JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The recent traffic tie-ups on Red Wolf Boulevard will continue into the first day of school.
The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department announced that crews will start working on improvements on Highway 49.
The work will require lane closures in Jonesboro.
According to District Maintenance Engineer Brad Smithee, crew's progress was stopped by this week's rain and is planned to start back on Monday.
Crews will work on the median south from Johnson Avenue to the railroad overpass near the Arkansas State University campus.
This will require closing northbound and southbound inside lanes of Highway 49 (Red Wolf Blvd.).
The closure will occur Monday, Aug. 17, through the middle of that week, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day, weather permitting.
AHTD asks you to exercise caution through the area.
