Cross County man charged with child pornography, federal investigation underway

WYNNE, AR (KAIT) -

A Wynne man was charged with rape and computer child pornography after Homeland Security, Arkansas State Police and the Wynne Police Department raided his home Thursday night.

According to Lt. Jeff Stewart with the Wynne Police Department, Joshua Logan Thornton, 31, of Wynne was charged with 4 counts of rape of a minor, endangering the welfare of a minor, and several other charges associated with child pornography.

According to Stewart, 2 children were in Thornton's home at the time of his arrest on Lawson Avenue.

Thornton was taken before a district judge Friday and given a $1-million bond. He will appear in Cross County Circuit Court on August 24th.

Stewart said federal authorities are also investigating the case.
