Mobile mammogram bus stops in Paragould

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

The BelkGives Mobile Mammogram bus stopped at the Paragould Belk Saturday.

BelkGives and Charlotte Radiology partnered to offer this service to women.

When the bus is in town, women can make an appointment and get a free mammogram.

The screenings are done in a 39-foot, state of the art digital screening bus.

This bus allows the program to go mobile and reach more stores and more women.

To get a free screening you must be over 40 years old, have waited at least a year from your last mammogram, have an established doctor and not have any prior concerns of breast cancer.

The program was established to help give women a convenient way to receive digital screening and to bring awareness to breast cancer.

The bus will visit all 80 Belk stores.

They have already performed more the 7,400 mammograms in the Southeast that have resulted in 30 cancer diagnosis.

The bus held appointments from 10 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. Saturday.
