BATESVILLE, AR (LYON) – The Batesville community continues to become involved in the startup of the 2015 Lyon College football program. On Friday Intimidator donated the use of an all-electric UTV for the program to use.
Intimidator representative Chris Epperson made the presentation to Lyon College President Dr. Donald V. Weatherman, Scots head football coach Kirk Kelley and Director of Athletics Kevin Jenkins.
“Starting football has been a huge undertaking by the College and we appreciate those in the community, like Intimidator, who are supporting us in this endeavor,” said Jenkins. “There are so many aspects of starting a program like this that require funds and we appreciate Intimidator for this donation and for the other support they have shown us.
“This is not only Lyon’s football team, but the community’s as a whole. We want everyone to have a part in this program, from individual and corporate donations to the fans to come out and support us.”
The Scots are continuing to prepare of the upcoming season, which kicks off August 29 at 1 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium. The Scots to face two nationally-ranked teams to kick off the season, battling 24th-ranked Tabor College to open the year, before facing No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson on September 5 at 1 p.m.
