Paragould man leaves the scene after hitting signs, tree

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

One Region 8 mechanic will be working on his own vehicle after hitting a tree Saturday.

A Jonesboro Police Officer responded to a one car accident around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Nettleton Avenue and Flint Street.

When the officer got on scene, a car was sitting in the Medic One parking lot, but the driver was not around it.

A woman came up to the officer and told him that she had just taken the driver of the vehicle and dropped him off around Dupwee.

She explained that she saw the crash happened from her house.

The woman said a man was driving west on Nettleton when he lost control of the car and jumped the curb and went onto the Jonesboro Kindergarten Center’s property.

He then hit 2 signs and ran into a tree.

She said he then backed into the Medic One parking lot, where she picked him up.

The woman wouldn’t give the officer any more information because she didn’t want the driver to get in trouble.

The damaged car was towed from the scene and a hold was placed on it.

Later that day, Keith Frazier, 41, of Paragould went to the Jonesboro Police Department and said that he had crashed near the kindergarten center.

Frazier was charged with misdemeanors for leaving the scene of an accident and criminal mischief.
