United Way celebrates 60 years with 2015 Day of Caring

United Way celebrates 60 years with 2015 Day of Caring
United Way of Northeast Arkansas’s 2015 Day of Caring is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25.
It is a large service project day for all of Northeast Arkansas.
This year also serves as United Way’s 60th birthday celebration.
United Way started in 1955 as the “United Fund” with the idea to make it easier to give back to the community.
Day of Caring is all about giving back to the community.
Each year, local non-profits leave much needed projects undone due to a lack of financial resources or manpower, but with the help of volunteers these projects can be accomplished.
A volunteer team can register to work all day or only in the morning or afternoon.
To register a volunteer team or sign up as an individual, download a volunteer form at the United Way website uwena.org
Work project submissions are open to non-profit organizations. You must contact the United Way office for a form.
Everyone who is interested must register by Friday, Aug. 28 to participate.
St. Bernards will provide breakfast for volunteers during the opening ceremony at St. Bernards Auditorium.
United Way will provide lunch for volunteers.
Volunteer teams are welcome to compete in the “T-shirt Design” and “Team Spirit” contests also.
“Team Spirit” will be awarded to the team who posts photos and shares the most on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter using #60yearsofcaring.
