Arkansas Healthcare Association hosts beauty pageant for seniors

TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) -

Senior citizens in Region 8 strutted their stuff on stage Thursday afternoon.

The Arkansas Healthcare Association Beauty Pageant took place at the Trumann Recreational Building.

22 representatives of nursing homes and healthcare facilities competed for the District 5 Crown.

Sherry Cunningham with All Care Pharmacy emceed the event.

She said it is a wonderful experience to be a part of.

“You get to hear some amazing stories, Cunningham said. “Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry, some will make you want to sit down and talk to these women for hours. So, it's just a special time.”

In the end, Freeda Mullaney from Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab was crowned queen.

She will go on to compete for the state title in Little Rock in November.

First runner up was Johnnie Goff from Monette Manor, second runner up was JoAnna Trawick from Lawrence Hall Nursing Home and third runner up was Mary Jernigan from Belle Meade.
