PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - A fundraiser to help nonprofits was held in Region 8 Friday.
A kickoff luncheon was held to raise money for the Greene County Community Fund.
The Greene County Community Fund sponsored the fundraiser at the Paragould Community Center.
Ironhorse Barbeque catered the lunch, and supporters could dine in, pick up, or ask for delivery.
Executive Director Kera Crafton said 100% of the profits stay in Greene County to help nonprofits.
"So it's very important for Greene County, but also it raises awareness not only about us, but about all of these agencies that are available that are on the front lines doing various activities and making Greene County a better place to live," Crafton said.
The Greene County Community Fund accepts applications throughout the year and awards grants to 15 nonprofits and 4 different scholarships to high school seniors.
Last year the GCCF distributed more than $245,000.
They set a goal of raising $260,000 this year, and Crafton believes this fundraiser should raise over $4,000.
