BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - It's a big weekend at Batesville Motor Speedway as drivers from around the country descend on the hills for some high stakes, high powered racing.
The COMP Cams Topless 100 is the main event and is returning for the 23rd time. Racing got underway on Friday night and will continue into Saturday with the event getting rolling at 8:00 pm.
There will be a huge purse available to winners. "Saturday night we'll run a 100 lap feature" said Batesville Motor Speedway Co-Owner Mooney Starr, "Winner takes home $40,000."
Along with the big money Topless 100, there will be several other big races going with a total purse of over $200,000. "This is the 5th largest race in the United States so its turned into a big deal," said Starr, "It's going to be a on tape delay for MAV Sports later, it's going to be on NBC Sports."
Starr said the race draws some big name racers on the local and national circuits. Bobby Labonte, Mark Martin, and Clint Bowyer all own cars that are racing in the event.
For those wanting to attend the race on Saturday night, admission is $25 and kids 6-11 are $5 while 5 and under free.
