Piggott man killed in train collision

PIGGOTT, AR (KAIT) -

A Clay County man was killed following a collision with a train on Sunday.

Aaron L. Beaver, 27, of Piggott was killed in the crash, according to Arkansas State Police.

It happened in Piggott on Lincoln St. just west on Highway 49 around 3:15 p.m.

The ASP crash report states Beaver was driving a red Mustang east on Lincoln St. and attempted to cross the railroad tracks when a southbound train struck the car.

A Piggott resident who heard the crash from his home said all he heard was the train whistle and then a loud bang.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.
