CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) -

Police and federal agents found guns, drugs and money during an investigation in Southeast Missouri.

According to the Caruthersville Police Department, the operation happened on Aug. 14 in Caruthersville.

Police along with the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives served two warrants at two separate homes in the city.

At one residence, 902 Eastwood Ave., officers found a "large quantity" of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and powder cocaine, according to Caruthersville police.

Five pistols, an AK-47 assault rifle, ammunition, scales, cell phones (believed to be tied to illegal drug transactions) and ingredients possibly used to make crack cocaine were seized. Officers also located cash believed to be over $150,000.

At another residence, 602 E. 15th St., police reportedly found a firearm "from a known location where illegal drugs were sold."

Caruthersville police are awaiting the filing of formal charges with the Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and federal indictments.

No suspects have been taken into custody as of the Monday morning news release issued by the Caruthersville Police Department.
