BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

A juvenile was arrested and another was taken to a hospital after the victim said she was attacked.

Officers were called to the corner of E. Mchaney Dr. and S. Franklin St. on Aug. 14 in reference to a physical altercation, according to Capt. Scott Adams, Criminal Investigation Division Commander for the Blytheville Police Department.

Adams stated that when officers arrived they were contacted by a juvenile female who had "severe lacerations" on her head.

She told officers another female juvenile attacked her with a machete and ran inside a residence on Mchaney.

Additional officers arrived on scene, went to the residence and took the juvenile into custody, according to Adams.

The juvenile that was wounded was taken to Blytheville hospital then later transported to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
