Cox Powersports to give away vehicles to help Jonesboro hospice house

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Hoxie-based company is giving away some pricey toys to benefit a Jonesboro hospice house.

Cox Powersports and Implement Co. will raffle off three vehicles this fall to raise money for the St. Bernards Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

The winner will get to choose between a Kawasaki Mule Pro FXT utility, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and a Ferris IS2100Z lawn mower.

People can buy the tickets in Tailgate Town at every A-State home football game or at the company's Hoxie and Highland locations.

"Oh, we can do lots of things with it," said Donna Lowe, the St. Bernards hospice director. "The hospice house was built to take care of people. So we take care of people, whether they have [bills to pay] or anything. Any money that's brought in is gratefully appreciated."

"I've had a family member who's used hospice in the past and we felt like it's a great charity in any organization and any community," Cox Inventory and Marketing Manager Matthew Schweri said. "So we wanted to help out as best we can here in Jonesboro and northeast Arkansas."

The company will draw a winner at A-State's last home game Dec. 5.

"We want to support the Red Wolves as much as we want to support the hospice house," Schweri said.

Lowe hopes this becomes an annual fundraiser.
