BROOKLAND, AR (KAIT) - Crews cleaned up a non-hazardous chemical spill south of Brookland Thursday morning.
A truck spilled two large containers of a foaming agent near Highway 49 and Craighead County Road 928, according to Jonesboro E911 Dispatch.
David Moore, Craighead County Emergency Management Director, says the foaming agent was a fracking liquid. The main concern with the liquid spilling on the road was the slipperiness of the material.
Moore said his office got the call about the spill just before 7 a.m.
Once on scene, crews used sand to help absorb the liquid and moved the remnants off the road. Moore said a company from Little Rock is expected to dispose of the sand Thursday and also do any additional cleaning.
Major traffic delays occurred as a result of the spill for a few hours.
