A-State faculty attend back-to-school workshop

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Arkansas State University students still have a couple days left of summer, but their professors are already back to work.

More than 300 A-State faculty members attended speakers and workshops at the yearly conference to kick off the 2015- 2016 school year.

Dr. Gabriel B. Tait, a Multimedia Journalism assistant professor, said he is looking forward to the university's new social science building and the construction of the osteopathic medical school.

Dr. Tait encourages all students, especially freshman, to come in as learners next week.

"These four years are so important," said Dr. Tait. "They're formative. They move from high school to university and just excited to be here at A-State for the opportunities for them to really grow and to learn and for myself, personally and professionally."

This year, Dr. Tait said A-State is encouraging more Red Wolves to become global students through experiences like study abroad.

"We're always trying to plant seeds for not just now but also for the future," he said.
