Bible verses back on dispatch Facebook page, not a city-run account anymore

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

A Facebook page that posts the most up to date information from the City of Jonesboro’s E911 center can now contain verses from the Bible.

This new Facebook page went public two weeks after the city’s official Facebook page for the E911 Department came under fire from the Wisconsin-based group, Freedom From Religion, for posting the Bible verses on the city-owned page.

That page has been taken down and replaced with a page called Presley Dispatch.

This is a new page created by Jonesboro E911 Director Jeff Presley.

The page is a regular “friend” profile.

It still posts updates on E911 services in the City of Jonesboro.

In the about section, it says the page is not any city or county's official page and does not represent the beliefs of any city or county.

That means the page can now contain religious messages and passages from the Bible.

There is separate Facebook page that is the official page for Jonesboro police and fire dispatch.
