Westside students teaming up with city of Bono to build website

BONO, AR (KAIT) -

The city of Bono is in a phase of rebranding.

The mayor recently revealed a new city logo, and now he feels the website needs attention, and he's called in some help.

Four Westside Digital Communication students are working with the city of Bono to help design and better the city website.

Senior Tristen Qualls said they've been brainstorming since their teacher informed them of their project.

“We were all really nervous, like wow we are going to be a part of something big, and we just kind of thought about it and it's going to be special, something we are going to be a part of, help the community,” Qualls said.

Qualls said to build a website it takes knowledge of coding and other computer skills, something he feels will be beneficial in his future and look good on a resume.

Qualls said they look forward to the partnership and having a finished product the city can be proud of.

The class will continue to work on the website throughout the semester.

The showers continue to fall, pushing this to maybe be the wettest February on record for Jonesboro. As the rain continues, the significantly high water levels are causing problems for roads and highways across the area.
