CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A small girl is recovering from being bitten by a dog in Craighead County.
A sheriff's deputy was called to a St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro Wednesday afternoon in reference to a 3-year-old girl being bitten.
The man who called in the incident told the officer he was visiting family on Craighead County 329. He said he was helping a family member load a vehicle when he heard the girl scream from the side of the house.
As he got to girl, he told the officer he saw what appeared to be a tan boxer mix running away.
The man's family told him the dog was a stray and "they had no idea who it could belong to."
The deputy said in the report the county road was checked, but he was unable to find any dog matching the one described.
