PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - The mayor of a Region 8 city is working to raise awareness about prostate cancer.
Mayor Mike Gaskill of Paragould read a proclamation in his office Wednesday afternoon about September being Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
Gaskill hopes this will encourage men to get themselves checked regularly.
"When it's found at an early time it can be healed and you can be cured from that problem and live on a regular life after that," Gaskill said.
Don't forget the Men's Health Fair kicks off at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center first thing Thursday morning.
