Forrest City men arrested in murder case

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) -

Two men in Forrest City were arrested as officers continue to investigate a fatal shooting.

According to the Forrest City Police Department, officers were called to the Forrest City Medical Center parking lot around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. The call was about individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers found a maroon car with what appeared to be bullet holes on the outside of the vehicle.

Four people, including one juvenile, were in the car.

Jamie Harris and Desmond Shaw, both of Forrest City, had been shot police stated. The juvenile and another man were not injured.

Shaw was pronounced dead at a Forrest City hospital after being shot in the lower back, police said. Harris was shot in the left arm, shoulder area and was taken to a Memphis hospital in critical condition.

Investigators learned the shooting did not happen at the medical center. They followed leads and made two arrests.

Dexter Dukes, 28, and Malik Ursery, 18, both of Forrest City were arrested and charged with the death of Shaw and battery against Harris, according to FCPD.

The two suspects are in the St. Francis County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

Police say no other details are being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
