Cleaning crew finds home cleaned out by burglars

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A cleaning crew ready to spruce up a rental property found it already cleaned out.

According to a police report from the Jonesboro Police Department, the owner of a house on Puryear reported the building had been ransacked, with thousands of dollars’ worth of items stolen.

The owner told officers it happened sometime between Friday afternoon, when he left the building, and Sunday evening, when the cleaning crew arrived.

According to the report, a storm window was ripped out, a window frame damaged and doors kicked in and ripped off the hinges.

The owner also reported several items were stolen including a refrigerator unit, stove, stainless steel sink and disposal unit, and several small air conditioning units.

According to the report, the value of the property damaged and stolen was $5,700.

The owner was not able to provide any suspect information to police at the time the report was filed.
