AHTD announces construction bid approvals

LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) -

Bids on road projects in Northeast Arkansas have been approved by the Arkansas State Highway Commission.

The announcements were made by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department Tuesday.

In Lawrence County, there is a project to resurface 1.9 miles of County Road 30 in Lawrence County. The work will extend 1.4 miles north of County Road 220 and 0.5 mile south of County Road 220, north of Black Rock.

The release stated Asphalt Producers, LLC of Jonesboro was awarded the contract at $229,623.08.

Meanwhile in Jackson County, a bid was approved to resurface 0.9 miles of roadway in the city of Beedeville. Again Asphalt Producers was awarded the contract at $242,383.60.

M & T Paving & Construction Company of Forrest City will be contracted to resurface 1.4 miles of road in Edmonson at $189,543.65.

Road improvements are coming to St. Francis County as well. AHTD announced a project to replace the Interstate 40 Bridge that spans “Fishing Lake.”  The bridge is located just west of Mile Marker 249, east of Forrest City.

Manhattan Road & Bridge Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma was awarded the contract at $26,710,417.68.

All of these projects are scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting.
