JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Memphis man is charged with first-degree battery after police say he shot a Jonesboro man.
The shooting happened on May 24 in the Garden Manor apartments, according to court documents.
The victim, who had been shot once in the midsection, and several witnesses told police a man by the name of "Cutthroat" or "Concealed" was responsible.
No one the detective spoke with was able to provide an actual name other than to say he was a black male with dreadlocks from Memphis, the affidavit stated.
While investigating the street names provided, the detective identified Robert Lance Walker, 31, as the suspect.
The officer prepared a photo lineup and presented it to the victim.
According to the court records, the victim "immediately pointed to Walker" and said "That's him. He's the one who shot me."
Officers arrested Walker on Monday, Sept. 7, and took him to the Craighead County Detention Center.
The following day Craighead County District Court Judge Keith Blackman found probable cause to charge Walker with first-degree battery with the purpose of causing serious injury and ordered him to appear in circuit court on Oct. 29.
Walker is free on $35,000 surety bond.
