Multiple Region 8 high schools make US News "best" list

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Multiple high schools in Region 8 made US News & World Report's list of "Best High Schools in Arkansas."

Of the 24 schools on the list, six Region 8 schools made the cut.

Schools were rated on student to teacher ratio, college readiness and proficiency in mathematics and literacy.

Kipp: Delta Collegiate High in Blytheville ranked #10 on the list. They rated above Arkansas average on college readiness and near Arkansas average on student to teacher ratio and proficiency in mathematics and literacy.

Searcy High School ranked #12. They ranked larger than Arkansas average on student to teacher ratio and above Arkansas average on college readiness and proficiency in mathematics and literacy.

Valley View High School ranked #14. They rated larger than Arkansas average on student to teacher ratio and above Arkansas average on college readiness and proficiency in mathematics and literacy.

Maynard High School ranked #16 on the list. They rated smaller than Arkansas average on student to teacher ratio but above Arkansas average on college readiness. They also ranked near average on proficiency in mathematics and literacy.

Midland High School came in at #17 on the list. They also rated smaller than Arkansas average for student to teacher ratio, above Arkansas average on college readiness and near Arkansas average on proficiency in mathematics and literacy.

Concord High School was in Heber Springs was the final Region 8 school to make the list. They came in at #19. They rated near Arkansas average on student to teacher ratio, above Arkansas average on college readiness and near Arkansas average on proficiency in mathematics and literacy.

The number one school in the state, according to the report, is Haas Hall Academy in Fayetteville. They rated higher than Arkansas average or above Arkansas average in all categories.
