BRYANT, AR (KAIT) -

An Arkansas murder suspect who escaped last week was arrested Monday in Bryant.

The Bryant Police Department said Austin Hill was arrested near an Exxon gas station without incident.

He escaped from the Ouachita County Jail Wednesday around 3 p.m.

He was in jail on capital murder and robbery charges connected to the death of 63-year-old Richard Anders.

Anders was killed in the Mac's Fresh Market parking lot. He was the manager of that store.

A 1962 Ford Galaxy that Hill was believed to have stolen was found on Interstate 30 Monday around 8:15 a.m.

According to the Bryant Police Department, the car was stolen out of Camden.

Lt. Jimmy Long with Bryant police said employees of Farmers Insurance, near the Exxon gas station and the Bryant Police Station, saw Hill and called 911.

Long said the police captain and chief were in the Exxon parking lot when that call came in.

Hill didn’t resist arrest.
