JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - It was a big day for some Region 8 students as they got to meet a few of the real Red Wolves.
Six Red Wolves football players spent the morning reading to kids at Arkansas State University's Child Development Research Center in Jonesboro.
They read two books to the kids. One called Hello Howl!
They even answered questions and showed the kids what they do after a touchdown.
Elroy Brown Jr. organized the event and said it is a way to set a good example for the kids.
"Makes it more personable when they come in and see them, talk to them, see them in a less aggressive atmosphere and relate to them," Brown said.
The event was a part of Red Wolves Give Back.
Brown said he already has plans for the players to come back and even plans to bring in other sports teams in hopes of giving the kids more interaction and positive examples.
The Child Development Research Center still has openings for children.
