BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - The Blytheville Police Department is asking for more applicants to become an officer.

Tuesday the department posted on Facebook that applications are available now to become an officer.

According to minutes from the police and fire committee meeting Monday, the department currently has 36 officers.

The department is budgeted to pay 43 officers at one time, meaning they are 7 officers short.
