Law enforcement wait tables for Special Olympics

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Law enforcement from all over Northeast Arkansas came together at Fat City Grill Tuesday night for the Tip a Cop event.

Law enforcement turned into waiters and waitresses to raise money for Special Olympic events around the area.

This money raised helps the local Special Olympic athletes compete and go on trips.

Theresa Book with the Special Olympics said law enforcement is a major asset to them.

“From the Tip a Cop to our Boots and Badges and our Torch Runs we do in the spring, our biggest help when it comes to any type of fundraising is our law enforcement," Book said.

“Our goal is to get the most money we possibly can,” Trumann Police Chief Chad Henson said. “We try to get as many people aware of Special Olympics and what these athletes do.”

All of the tip money made Tuesday night went to Special Olympics of Arkansas.
