BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - A false alarm was reported at the Batesville High School on Wednesday.
Batesville Police Chief Alan Cockrill says a student dialed 911 on accident and that triggered the panic button.
Police checked out the school and it has been given the all clear and the lockdown has been lifted.
Superintendent Gary Anderson noted the app used to make the alert has good intentions, but kinks need to be worked out since there are so many cell phones on campus.
The issue is similar to an incident at the Melbourne Elementary School last week.
Region 8 News will have more information about this incident as it becomes available.
