Boozman to talk economy, football, rock & roll during visit

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Economic growth and development, with a dash of football and rock and roll, will be on the agenda when U.S. Senator John Boozman visits Region 8.

The Senator will begin his day Friday at an 8 a.m. meeting with members of the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce, 1709 E. Nettleton, to discuss issues before Congress and answer questions.

Afterward he will travel to Walnut Ridge for a special stamp dedication ceremony celebrating the release of the Elvis Presley Forever stamp.

The ceremony kicks off the 2015 Beatles at the Ridge Festival.

The senator will then travel back to Jonesboro for a lunchtime meeting with the staff of the East Arkansas Planning and Development District to discuss growth and economic conditions in the region.

At 3 p.m. he will attend the ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony of the new Humanities and Social Sciences Building at Arkansas State University.

The senator will end his day at a reception and ceremony at the Carl R. Reng Center where the 1970 undefeated A-State National Championship team will be inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame.
