JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Need help with a utility bill? A Region 8 organization is here to help.
The Crowley's Ridge Development Council's Utility Assistance Program is set up to help those who can't always pay bills that fluctuate through the summer months.
Eligibility for assistance is based on income.
Rhonda Keiter, human services coordinator, said this time of year bills can sometimes become overwhelming and they want to put a stop to that.
"We do truly help people in need," Keiter said. "You know things come up--high bills, unexpected expenses--and we are here to help. We've helped thousands of people, and we hope to help thousands more."
The deadline to apply is Monday, Sept. 21.
The CRDC will also be at Craighead County Judge Ed Hill's education booth at the NEA District Fair on Monday to answer questions.
For more information call the CRDC at 870-935-8610.
