A local business hosted their annual Red Wolves Launch Party Friday evening to benefit A-State students and the community.
From now until it runs out, 10% of sales from Red Wolves apparel at Gearhead Outfitters will benefit a scholarship endowment at the Arkansas State College of Business.
Brandon Stevens with Gearhead Outfitters told Region 8 News that they saw an opportunity to partner with A-State due to the number of students and alumni they employ.
However, he said events like the Red Wolves Launch Party benefit the entire Jonesboro community.
"We love it because, first of all, it supports the university and that's just so important, with a university of this stature being in our backyard," Stevens said, "But also to bring people to downtown Jonesboro, to Main Street, and just get people down here."
Gearhead Outfitters owner Ted Herget began the scholarship endowment in 2012.
According to Arkansas State University, a student is eligible for the scholarship if they are full-time junior or senior Business major in good academic standing.
The award is good for one year.
