Jonesboro Trooper Wraps Up 33-Year Career in Law Enforcement

FEBRUARY 28, 2005 - Posted at 7:52 a.m. CST

JONESBORO, AR - Roger Bullock looks back over 33 years in law enforcement with no regrets and plenty of memories.

The senior corporal in the Arkansas State Police assigned to Troop C says he feels grateful for his career, even though he worked the scene in March 1998 at Westside Middle School when four students and one teacher were shot to death by two juvenile students.

Bullock said that was the worst day in his career.  He said seeing all the little girls lying in blood was unbelievable and will stay etched in his memory.

The Jonesboro native and Stuttgart High graduate was a Jonesboro police officer from 1972 through 1976 before joining the State Police.

He started with the State Police in Osceola and was in Mississippi County for 11 years before returning to Troop C headquarters in Jonesboro.
