JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Northeast Arkansas District Fair is back.
A ribbon cutting was held Monday at noon to kick off the 2015 fair.
General Fair Manager Mitch Johnson said they have been busy with set-up and expect a good turn out this year.
He is even hoping to break the attendance record from last year of 64,000 attendees.
Even though there was initial doubt about the fair happening this year, the manager is impressed with the turnout so far.
"We got the word out there and I mean everything just kind of exploded, booth rentals were picking up and lots of new vendors calling and wanting to come in," Johnson said. "It's just an exciting time for us."
Johnson said they have sold out of booth rentals and are working on finding more space for more.
He also said there are new rides people can look forward to this year, including the Super Shot.
