Emergency responders save dog in Batesville house fire

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Batesville emergency responders saved a dog found during a house fire Monday.

According to the Batesville Police Department's Facebook Page, Captain Mark McCollum with the Batesville Fire Department found the dog inside the house.

After bringing it outside, McCollum and Sgt. Fred Friar with BPD started giving the dog oxygen.

Batesville Fire Chief Brent Gleghorn and Cpt. McCollum then took the dog to a local vet for further treatment.

The dog was still alive as of Monday evening.

Nobody else was at home at the time of the fire.
