Williams sweeps Morthland in straight sets

BENTON, IL (WBC) - The Williams Baptist College volleyball team traveled to Benton, Ill., for a non-conference match against the Patriots of Morthland College. The Lady Eagles were able to win the contest in straight sets (25-9, 25-13, 25-12).  

Offensively, Audra Nailling led the charge, as she tallied double-digits in kills with 10.  Madison Laubach had seven kills, Kaillie Ralston and Harley Strayhorn added 6 kills, respectively.  Taylor Barton paced the offense with a game-high 17 assists and Jessica Crow added 12 assists.

Defensively, Mallory Wright and Crow tied for the team lead in digs with nine, each.  Maddie Belk contributed with 12 receptions and six digs.  

Williams improves to 6-4 overall on the season.  The next match for the Lady Eagles will be an American Midwest Conference match against Harris-Stowe State University on Friday, September 25th.  The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start in the Southerland-Mabee Center against the Hornets.
