JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Gigi's Cupcakes of Jonesboro took time Monday to say thank you to local nurses.

They gave a free mini four pack of cupcakes to every nurse that came in wearing their stethoscope.

They also had medical themed cupcakes and cupcakes with the NEA Baptist Clinic and St. Bernards Medical Center logos on them that could be purchased for nurses that couldn't make it in.

Gigi's announced the event on their Facebook page by saying they wanted to thank nurses for the long hours they work to make sure we are comfortable and cared for.

This comes after Michelle Collins and Joy Behar, co-hosts of The View, criticized a Miss America contestant on the show last week.

"She came in in a nurse's uniform and basically read her emails out loud," Collins said about Miss Colorado Kelly Johnson's monologue about her career as a nurse during the talent portion of the pageant.

"Why does she have a doctor's stethoscope on?" Behar said.

Both of the hosts apologized on the show a couple of days later.

Gigi's received several positive comments on their Facebook page about the event.
