Construction work on two major roads in Jonesboro won't be complete until a few weeks from now.
If you're driving in the Caraway Road or Race Street areas, you'll want to pay extra attention and allow for more time to get to and from where you're going.
Road crews began removing layers of asphalt on those streets recently.
Nearly a mile of Caraway Road has been stripped down in preparation of new overlay. Construction starts at the Highland Drive intersection and ends at the intersection of Caraway and Phillips Drive.
Construction on Race Street goes from Fair Park Boulevard to Bernard Street.
According to LM Duncan with the City of Jonesboro, the road will remain stripped for the next couple of weeks.
After that, construction crews will come back to pave the road.
The $250,000 project was partly funded through a state-wide sales tax. The city footed costs for 10% of the project.
