A wonderful life: Berra's family, Yankees honor Yogi

AP Baseball Writer
NEW YORK (AP) - Yogi Berra has been honored with a moment of silence and a pregame tribute at Yankee Stadium.
The ceremony lasted 10 minutes Thursday night before the New York Yankees hosted the Chicago White Sox. Berra, the popular Hall of Fame catcher for the Yankees, died Tuesday at 90.
As both teams lined up outside their dugouts, Yankees manager Joe Girardi put a wreath of blue and white flowers in the shape of Berra's No. 8 in the catcher's box. A Navy bugler played "Taps" in a salute to Berra's service aboard a Navy gunboat during the D-Day invasion.
Earlier in the day, Berra's three sons and a granddaughter reminisced about one of the most beloved figures in all sports at the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center on the campus of Montclair State University in Little Falls, New Jersey.
