A-State Football radio color analyst Bill Keedy died Saturday morning.
Keedy had heart surgery in late August and had been away from the booth since.
Keedy worked for the East Arkansas Broadcasters Sports Radio Network as A-State’s color analyst since 2000.
"He made everybody feel like you're the most important person. And that look this is a guy that was an all-state athlete, a hall of fame coach, and neither one of those things hold a candle to the type of person he was," EAB Sports Broadcaster Brad Bobo said.
He is also a legendary high school football coach.
Coach Keedy lead Newport to four state championship games and won two state titles.
He reached the semifinals eight times and made the playoffs 19 times as Newport’s head coach.
He was named district coach of the year 17 times and finished with a record of 175-48-3.
Keedy was selected as part of the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Class for 2012.
Keedy was 70 years old.
