JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Law enforcement officers got a special treat Monday in honor of backing the blue.

Newk's in Jonesboro sponsored Blue Monday.

Any uniformed law enforcement officer who came into Newk's received a free meal.

Owner Wade Quinn said this is something they hope to do again.

“Just wanted to show the law enforcement community that we appreciate what they do and our patrons appreciate what they do,” Quinn said. “It's just a way to give back a little bit.”

Newk's considered the event a huge success. A number of Jonesboro police officers took advantage of Blue Monday.

The crew at Newk's feels this is just a small thank you compared to the job law enforcement officers do every day.
