CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) - A Caruthersville man was found guilty of murder Tuesday in New Madrid County.
According to a press release from the City of Caruthersville, Judge Fred W. Copeland found Kevin Tyrone Tilson of second degree murder and armed criminal action.
Tilson was found guilty of shooting Rodney Maxwell, of Caruthersville on May 10, 2013 during a robbery.
Maxwell later died from his injuries.
The case was investigated by the Caruthersville Police Department, Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Tilson requested a change of venue, so the case was tried in New Madrid County.
The trial began on Monday, Sept. 28.
Tilson will appear in court Nov. 11 for sentencing.
