POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) -

A Randolph County sex offender is back behind bars after he allegedly tried to solicit sex from a 12-year-old girl.

According to e Pocahontas Police Department, 34-year-old Jason Charles Bloomfield, a Level 4 sex offender, was arrested for sexual indecency with a child Tuesday.

Ten years ago, Bloomfield was convicted of sex crimes against children. When he moved to the Region 8 area, a local prosecuting attorney warned residents about him.

In July 2013, Henry Boyce, Prosecuting Attorney for the Third Judicial District, alerted Randolph County residents about the "sexually violent" sex offender.

Bloomfield, who was convicted of sexual indecency with a child in 2005, moved south of Maynard city limits in 2013.

According to the incident report from the Pocahontas Police Department, that's where Bloomfield was still living when he allegedly tried to solicit sex from a child in Pocahontas Monday night.

The report states that the child was walking the family dog when Bloomfield pulled up in his car and offered her $100 to have sex with him. When the child denied his requests, Bloomfield then began playing with himself and said he would give her $200.

The child continued walking home, but not before getting got a description of Bloomfield, as well as the make, model and license plate number off his vehicle.

Pocahontas police arrested him the next day for sexual indecency with a child.

In a court appearance Wednesday, probable cause was found to charge Bloomfield. His bond was set at $50,000, cash only.

He's scheduled to be back in circuit court on November 4th.
