Jonesboro girl fighting cancer has wish granted

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A little girl from Jonesboro got her wish granted on Thursday.

Hayden Winford's family got news they never wanted to hear in December.

When Amber and Lance Winford saw an abnormal spot on Hayden's body, they were nervous but did not think it would be life threatening.

Hayden's pediatrician told her parents that Hayden had nephroblastoma, which is cancer of the kidney.

This was Amber and Lance's biggest fear, but they knew that Hayden was strong.

The Winfords said that if Hayden had not lost her hair you would have never known she was sick.

She enjoys life to the fullest and had a wish to go to Disney World and meet all the princesses.

On Thursday, the International Studies School and the Make-A-Wish Foundation made it all possible.

They granted Hayden her Disney dream.

Hayden's parents said the love and support has been never-ending.

"We are very, very grateful for everyone and their support," Amber and Lance said.

Hayden's recovery is coming along well and she will have a CT scan on Oct. 26 for a new update.

Her parents said they are anxious, but know God is watching over their sweet girl.
