RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

The Randolph County Sheriff's Department is searching for two people who led a state trooper on a high-speed chase Tuesday afternoon.

According to Sheriff Gary Tribble, the suspected driver is a man and the passenger in the car was a woman.

Tribble told Region 8 News that an Arkansas State Police trooper attempted to stop the car for an illegal tint violation. That's when he said the car took off on Highway 67 at a high speed.

The suspects then ditched their car in a wooded area near Current River and took off on foot.

Tribble said the car was found abandoned in a wooded area off a gravel road near Skaggs Ferry Road.

Though they don't have an ID on the suspects, the car they were in is a 4-door gold Pontiac G6 with the license plate number 423-LZC.

If you have any information about the suspects involved in the high-speed chase, call the Randolph County Sheriff's Department at (870) 892-8888.
