JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - October is Public Safety Month at Firehouse Subs and the restaurant is working to help local first responders keep the community safe.
Residents can have their name put on a medallion for $1.
That money will go to the Public Safety Foundation, which supplies grants to first responders.
General Manager Scott Phillips said his father is a retired firefighter from Newport, so he knows firsthand how crucial community support is.
"In the smaller communities, they don't have a big budget to spend," Phillips said. "They money that you give today could potentially save your life tomorrow."
You can purchase a medallion throughout October.
