Dillard's holds fitting for a cure event

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Dillard’s customers in Jonesboro had an opportunity Wednesday to help the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The Fit for the Cure Event took place in their lingerie department.

Lingerie business manager for Dillard's, Flo Kriner, said they were working with Wacoal to help make a difference.

“For every fitting we do,” Kriner said. “Wacoal will donate $2 to the local Susan G. Komen. And for every purchase made they will make an additional $2.”

The purpose of the event was to help advance research in finding a cure for breast cancer.

“Dillard's has been doing this for 20 years now,” Kriner said. “This is to help spread breast cancer awareness and to help give back to the community.”

Kriner said the event hit home with her.

“Personally, I feel great because I have family who went through breast cancer,” Kriner said. “It’s a great cause. Just to know this event will make a difference in someone else’s life.”

Their goal was to raise $6,800.

All money raised from the event will stay in Region 8.
