Blytheville store robbed at gunpoint

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a Blytheville store at gunpoint.

Capt. Scott Adams with the Blytheville Police Department states the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Family Dollar, 2001 West Main.

Officers responded to a panic alarm and, once on scene, spoke to an employee who told them a black male suspect robbed the store at gunpoint.

Adams states the employee told officers the suspect came into the store wearing a white shirt, gray shorts, a mask and a white sock on his hand. He pointed the hand gun at the employee and demanded money.

After taking about $250 from the cash register, the employee said the suspect left.

The suspect, who may be 25 to 30 years old, "looked familiar" to the employee.

Police have not yet made an arrest in the case.
