JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Piggott Mohawks took home the 2AAA District Tennis Girl's team title while Harding Academy won the boy's team championship on Thursday at Allen Park in Jonesboro.
The Piggott Girl's team took home several awards along with the district win including Emilee Seegraves' second consecutive singles win while Devyn Staples and Meghan Woodard won the doubles championship. Head Coach Paul Seegraves won District Coach of the Year.
On the boy's side of the tournament, Harding Academy took the overall championship while Piggott was the runner-up. Harding Academy's Brett Kernodle won the singles title and Piggott's Kyle Allman and Quinton Mauldin took the doubles. Harding Academy Head Coach Rees Lloyd won boy's district Coach of the Year.
State tennis tournaments begin on October 19.
