Jonesboro police investigating break-in at Family Dollar

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police say a would-be burglar who used a rock to break into a local business left empty-handed.

At 10:49 p.m. Monday officers responded to an alarm at Family Dollar, 106 S. Gee St.

According to the incident report, officers noticed the store’s front door was broken.

It appeared the suspect used a piece of concrete, found lying just inside the door, to break out the glass.

All items inside the store appeared to be in place and nothing was obviously missing, the report stated.

The alarm company’s camera system reportedly caught the suspect on video breaking the window and entering the store.

According to the report, the suspect was a black male wearing dark pants, a black shirt, a light blue bandana and black gloves. The suspect also carried a purple backpack.

Anyone having any information about this break-in is asked to call the Jonesboro Police Department or CrimeStoppers at (870) 935-STOP (7867).
